Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about getting an EPD with us.

Getting started

Not for every product yet. They are increasingly required in procurement and in certifications like BREEAM and LEED, and regulations may make them mandatory for certain products or regions. See why EPDs matter.

Yes. Streamlined data collection and tools like One Click LCA keep costs down without compromising quality. The long-term benefits, such as stronger marketability and customer trust, often outweigh the initial investment.

Product-specific data such as raw materials, manufacturing, energy and water use, packaging, transport and waste. The full list is on How it works.

Product carbon footprints

A PCF measures the greenhouse gas emissions linked to a product, giving you a clearer picture of its environmental impact without the full EPD process.

If customers, specifiers or tenders ask for an EPD, you need an EPD. If you mainly want to understand your product's carbon impact, a PCF can be a quicker starting point. Not sure? Ask us and we will help you decide.

Yes. A PCF uses much of the same product data, so it is a useful first step if you plan to get an EPD in future.

The process

That's common. We help you gather what you can, and remaining gaps can be filled with high-quality generic data from reputable databases.

Typically 10 to 14 weeks, depending on your product's complexity and how quickly data can be provided.

EN 15804+A2 for construction products, alongside ISO 14025 for environmental declarations and ISO 14040/44 for life cycle assessment.

After publication

On EPD Hub, after independent verification. Your product data can also be found by designers in the One Click LCA database.

Five years from verification.

Significant changes, such as different materials or production processes, may mean your EPD needs updating. We can help you update or renew it so it stays accurate.
