Why construction products need environmental product declarations

Clients, specifiers and certification schemes increasingly expect verified environmental data. An EPD is how you provide it.

The basics

What is an EPD?

An Environmental Product Declaration is a transparent, third-party-verified report of a product's environmental impacts across its life cycle.

It is based on a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), a method for evaluating impacts from raw material extraction and manufacturing through to use and disposal. As a Type III declaration, an EPD follows globally recognised standards, so it can be trusted and compared.
